Types of Plastic We Accept

At Seraphim Plastics, we specialize in efficient and responsible plastic recycling for businesses across the Midwest and Southeast. We purchase and process post-industrial scrap plastic, helping manufacturers and distributors convert waste into profit. Below are the primary types of plastic we accept for recycling.

Polypropylene (PP) – Injection Molded Products

We accept polypropylene (PP) injection molded products, a highly versatile thermoplastic known for its toughness and chemical resistance. PP is commonly used in:

  • Automotive parts (battery cases, interior trims)
  • Caps, closures, and containers
  • Industrial packaging trays and bins
  • Houseware and consumer product components

We require materials to be free of contaminants, metal, and mixed resins. PP scrap is often baled or boxed in gaylords for easy transportation and handling.

High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) – Injection Molded and Blow Molded Products

HDPE is one of the most commonly recycled plastics due to its strength, durability, and recyclability. Seraphim Plastics accepts both injection molded and blow molded HDPE materials, such as:

  • Injection Molded: Buckets, crates, lids, and pallets
  • Blow Molded: Industrial drums, bottles, and containers

HDPE must be sorted by process type (injection vs. blow molding) and kept clean and free from residues or mixed plastics. We prefer materials in gaylords or bulk boxes for efficiency in pickup and processing.

High Molecular Weight (HMW) HDPE – Thermoformed Products

We also accept HMW Thermoform HDPE products, which are valued for their high impact strength and stiffness. These products are typically formed from sheet stock and used in:

  • Plastic pallets and dunnage trays
  • Bulk containers and shipping totes
  • Agricultural bins and liners

All thermoformed HMW HDPE must be rigid, uncontaminated, and free from multi-resin composites. This type of plastic is ideal for shredding and reprocessing into usable flake.

LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene)

Common Forms: Film, stretch wrap, liners, shrink wrap, sheeting, regrind
Used In: Packaging, construction film, agricultural film
Broker Value: Widely available and used in flexible applications.

We connect suppliers of clean, baled LDPE film or regrind with buyers who repurpose it into trash bags, liners, and flexible packaging materials.

LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene)

Common Forms: Stretch film, agricultural film, regrind, pellets
Used In: Pallet wrap, agricultural films, packaging
Broker Value: High tensile strength makes it valuable for reuse.

LLDPE is sought after for its strength and stretchability. We broker clean, high-quality LLDPE films and post-industrial LLDPE regrind for clients in packaging and film manufacturing.

PC (Polycarbonate)

Common Forms: Sheets, optical discs, lenses, machine housings, regrind
Used In: Electronics, construction panels, automotive lighting
Broker Value: Sought after for impact resistance and optical clarity.

We broker clear and colored PC in sheet form or regrind. Applications include reuse in construction glazing and molded safety equipment.

Nylon (PA6 / PA66)

Common Forms: Purge, parts, fiber scrap, pellets, regrind
Used In: Automotive, textiles, industrial components
Broker Value: High due to its mechanical strength and thermal resistance.

Nylon is widely used in high-performance applications. We connect sellers of clean nylon scrap or regrind with buyers in automotive and mechanical parts industries.

PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate / Acrylic)

Common Forms: Sheets, display parts, lenses, signage, regrind
Used In: Retail displays, signage, automotive light covers
Broker Value: High optical clarity and weather resistance make PMMA valuable.

Seraphim Plastics brokers clean acrylic (PMMA) in sheet or ground form to buyers who repurpose it into cast sheets, lighting components, and display cases.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

Common Forms: Automotive trim, appliance housings, toys, regrind
Used In: Electronics, automotive, consumer products
Broker Value: Strong and moldable—great for durable goods reuse.

We broker high-quality ABS scrap and regrind. Buyers value it for applications ranging from tool casings to electronic enclosures.

TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin)

Common Forms: Automotive panels, roofing membranes, bumper fascias, regrind
Used In: Automotive, construction, roofing
Broker Value: High demand due to flexibility and resistance to impact and UV.

Seraphim Plastics brokers post-industrial TPO, connecting suppliers to buyers in automotive and construction industries who reuse it in molded or extruded products.

Requirements for All Accepted Plastics
